Reasoning for endorsements for each candidate are below. At Toledoans For Trump we want our candidates to win and with such we want you to know who to vote for.
City Council | Toledo, Ohio
– Tom Waniewski | Republican
The only Republican on our list but he is the best Republican in possibly the whole countywide party. I’ve often thought of Tom a the Ron Paul of Lucas County. Tom has always ran not for himself but to help Toledo. He is not a couch quarterback but an on the ground player who slogged through dealing with liberal Democrats and outright socialists to negotiate the best deal possible for Toledo.
I once remember speaking to Mayor Mike Collins about a vote he made and why the pork spending for a specific ethnic fair was wrong. Mayor Collins said well this ethnic event brings in 1,000s of people per year it makes it worth it. I retorted Cornerstone Church’s Heaven On Earth brings just as many people, why don’t we give them money? Mayor Collin saw the point and appreciated the conservative perspective.
Tom Waniewski brings that conservative perspective and is the salt and light that preserves our city government. It’s a hard fight but Tom is willing to fight it just like he did his many years on council and even more running for Mayor and County Commissioner. For that Tom is the top of our ticket and who we give our largest endorsement to.
– Ed Beczynski | Independent
Ed Beczynski is a restauranter and entrepreneur. You’d know him best as the owner of the Blarney in downtown Toledo. What you might not know is that was his 3rd restaurant with his first being opened in 1996. Ed was an innovator for downtown revitalization.
Ed is a fiscal conservative and intelligent man. Looking forward to Ed revitalization Toledo from the inside and bringing his amazing insight to Toledo government from city council.
I got the chance to speak with Ed for probably about 20 minutes and really got to understand his character. Is someone that wants to work together with anyone whether it be republican or democrat to bring positive change to the city of Toledo. I can confidently say that he has the same belief of mid government & responsibility at core. As an independent there are times he may shift on small issues, but at the course he believes in a better Toledo.

Rob is a friend of mine, we originally met at church close to a decade ago. And even then I thought he should be in local government. He actually reminded me when we spoke about 2 weeks ago that I was the first to tell him to run for Toledo City Council.
Rob understands local politics and understands what Toledo needs for growth.
As a realtor and real estate investor he understands why people move to Toledo and what we need to do to improve its value proposition in the city.

I spoke with Blair for about 30 minutes on the way to work on August 21st. I honestly knew I wanted to endorse him about 5 minutes into the conversation. He is a Christian and a contractor who understands hard work.
His focus is on maintenance and the city of Toledo understanding to have a realistic budget is amazing.
When we are always talking about having normal people run for office. Blair is the type of person we mean.

George is kind of a RINO who became an independent but to be honest he has good name recognition. He will likely work with Tom & Ed and the rest of the ticket if elected.
He’s better than a Democrat and has a good chance at winning.
Isn’t that a sad state that Toledo’s Republican Party is at? Even R.I.N.O.s don’’t want to run in the party because there is so little value to the current organization.
Mayor | Toledo, Ohio
– Roberto Torres | Independent
I’ve actually never had the chance to speak with Roberto despite me reaching out to speak with him. He is a Catholic & Veteran so he has some definite good points about him but other than that I am not exactly sure.
The majority of this endorsement is because his opponent Mayor Murder (Wade Kapszukiewicz) is such a poor leader who has for sure hurt the growth of my beloved hometown. Toledo is worse off after 8 years of Wade as Mayor.
He started his mayorship on a lie claiming money lost under his rule as treasurer then found by Tom Waniewski was actually found by him. Now it has been continued immorally by him by amending the city charter so he can run a 3rd time so he can run for Marcy Kaptur’s seat in congress once she FINALLY determines its time to leave the retirement home (AKA Congress). Now he refuses to hold even basic employees to normal standards and fire Jeff for his hateful comments on Charlie Kirk.
I have never met Roberto but he honestly can’t be that bad
Municipal Court | Non-partisan

Joshua is a strong voice for justice and law & order on the courts. He earns our support.
City Council | Oregon, Ohio
– Paul Gibbs | Republican
Paul is the only endorsement out of the city of Toledo and that is a particular reason. Not because I don’t care about the rest of the county or area, but just because I did not have the time to research all candidates.
With that said there is an exception with Paul because I have known him and his wife, Lynn, for over a decade.
They have sacrifice hundreds of hours in service to make not just America better but our region. Both of them hailing from the east side of Toledo and both of them sincerely loving this area.
I know that Paul is a man of character who will serve the city of Oregon so well that it will actually improve the eastern side of Toledo and the region as a whole.
In conclusion, the most important thing you can do is go vote. If each and every one of you reading this went and voted all of these candidates would win and Toledo would be a Republican city literally within three election cycles.
